Who we are
Nordica Translate is a Shopify app made by Variegata Nordica (Mallory Berthomé). It translates a store’s products, collections, pages and menus into the store’s other languages, using Shopify’s own translations. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@nordica-apps.com.
What the app stores
- Your store’s address and Shopify access, so the app can open in your Shopify admin.
- Your choices: your languages, your words to keep and whether changes are translated by themselves.
- Translations the app made, so the same text is never paid for twice, and a short fingerprint of each one, so the app can tell when you edited it by hand.
- How many words were translated each month, and when each run started and ended.
- Messages you send with “Contact support” or “Suggest an improvement”, and technical error reports.
The app reads no orders and no customers. It stores no customer data of any kind. The translations themselves live in your Shopify store.
Who processes the data
Cloudflare hosts the app and its database, under Cloudflare’s data processing terms. Anthropic (Claude) translates the texts you choose to translate, under Anthropic’s commercial terms: it doesn’t train its models on them. Only your store’s own texts are sent, never customer data. Shopify provides the store data and handles billing. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
How long it is kept
When you uninstall, your sign-in data is deleted at once; 48 hours later everything else the app holds is deleted. Translations already in your Shopify store stay there: they are yours.
